We're proud to announce that the German sustainable fashion brand Armed Angels is using our Aware™ traceability technology for their Detox Denim collection.
Armed Angels is a pioneer in the German sustainable fashion industry, and we are excited to partner with them on their latest collection. The Detox Denim collection is made from 100% recycled cotton, and with the help of Aware™´s tracer and blockchain technology, customers can track the material flow of their denim and understand the authenticity of the recycled material. Each denim product contains a QR code that gives customers access to its Aware™ Virtual ID, a digital product passport that allows them to track the origin and processing of their denim with a simple scan.
Starting with the original certificates, which are uploaded to the public blockchain, each producer adds their specifications as a data block, which are validated by digital tokens. This way, each of the recycled DetoxDenim styles gets its own virtual supply chain, a digital twin of its physical manufacturing process. The processed fibers contain their own tracer particles, which not only link the physical production process with the virtual blockchain but also enable the recycled material in the final product to be checked.
By using our traceability technology, Armed Angels can ensure that if it says "recycled cotton," it is guaranteed that recycled cotton has been processed. This kind of tracing offers transparency and helps customers make better decisions. In addition, the Detox Denim collection is made from 80% pre-consumer and 20% post-consumer recycled cotton, which helps avoid the CO2 emissions and consumption of land, water, and energy that would be needed to cultivate new cotton. This is an important contribution to the sustainable fashion industry as recycled cotton accounted for only about 1% of the global cotton market in 2021.
We're proud to collaborate with Armed Angels and provide our traceability technology to help promote transparency and sustainability in the fashion industry. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to building a more sustainable future for fashion.

About Aware™
Aware™ is an award winning global traceability solution for the fashion and textile industry. Their Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a world’s first game-changing phygital technology that revolutionizes the industry. Because at source a physical tracer is embedded into any type of raw material and each step is validated by each maker in the supply chain (primary data) which automatically ends up on a public blockchain. Leading to a virtual supply chain that follows the physical flow of materials forward, providing primary impact figures.
Aware™'s mission is to minimize the collective impact by maximizing traceability. With their technology, the Dutch company enables brands, suppliers and consumers to make better and more conscious decisions. Making greenwashing a thing of the past, and restoring consumers' trust in sustainability textiles.
The business was founded in 2020 by two Dutch sustainable fashion experts with 25+ and 10+ years of industry experience.
